I think the LSU DC job is a lot less attractive than lots of those fans will have you believe. Anyone, and more importantly, any candidate, can see three things.

1. LSU's offense sucks arse.
2. Les Miles is on the hot seat.
3. One of the most respected defensive coordinators just left LSU to go to rebuilding job.

Agree with you and for the reasons you mentioned. I think Les is on the hot seat but it looks like Alleva and Miles may have an almost toxic relationship at this point. Alleva is stuck because Les has $13M+ buyout.

Fans don't have a clue what happened with Chavis but something bad went down. By now some outside coaches know something about it. Just don't see why a high profile DC would go into that mess.

Looks like Haley has a chance to be promoted. Never heard of an "upgrade" from within . That's new to me.

I would love to see Stoops get the DC position just for the entertainment value on the rant. Would be comic gold.

Any of which can be overcome.

So has the Baltimore Ravens offense most of the time. They have two Super Bowl titles. Enough quality depth on defense can overcome that.

He's on the hot seat so much you would think his throne is in Hell. Still employed despite Michigan's best efforts.

Means nothing other than maybe the DC wanted a new challenge.
