Here's my thing on these sorts of rumors, not just with you but with these types generally.
You are not a journalist. You have zero journalistic responsibility whatsoever to "protect your sources." So when you come with stuff like this, say exactly where you heard it. You're naming the subject of the rumor - Fuller - by name. So you're not protecting his identity. But the identity of where you got this rumor from is somehow sacred? No. It just takes away credibility.
Gabe on PowerMizzou has been letting these rumor mill posts fly, but he has said that there are also rumors out there that nothing of the sort is happening and that no indications that Fuller is leaving have been given to the team as of yet. So the only way to really start to sort out what to believe is to get any idea at all of where you are hearing this. If its second hand from another internet post, well I've seen the other posts on other sites too and that just doesn't help much.
It's also worth noting that the ones both here and on PM who have been putting the Fuller leaving rumors out there have acknowledged that they have been highly critical of the KA regime thus far in some form or fashion. So while its good to acknowledge potential bias, it also makes it more important to state your sources in order for us to see past any potential bias. And so far none of the peeps who have posted this sorta stuff have been giving sources.

Mizzou Fan I agree with everything you say but here is the problem. If one reveals their source the source will no longer share information with you. So as readers and posters on these boards we can take things with a grain of salt and consider who is posting and their track record.

I hear what you're saying but here's the deal as I see it. AND THIS IS ALL COMPLETE FICTION JUST AS AN EXAMPLE.
Let's say I have a buddy that works in the athletic department. Let's say we happened to get together over the holidays and have a few drinks. Let's say while drinking he lets on about some potential problems with Coach X. Even if he doesn't explicitly say it, you know by the nature of it he wouldn't want you to divulge it. Now you go blathering his name, jeopardizing his job, and yeah, I think I would be pissed at you for releasing his name.
Instead of pressuring people to out their sources, I suggest we just take it for what it states in the OP...a rumor. May turn out to be right. May turn out to be nothing. So I guess it comes down to posters just not posting anything they hear because they're all rumors even if they name the source or posters just not sharing what they hear because they're not going to piss off a friend much less jeopardize their job or their relationship with the University.

I'm not protecting my source. I just prefer to remain friends with the person I got this from. They don't care that I'm posting it, but the people who told them will stop telling them stuff if I put their name on here and it could damage their relationship with the university. So, I'll just continue to post stuff I hear and label as rumor and you can ignore it if you want.
