Really?
Average High Temps for July and August:
Atlanta: 89F 88F
NYC: 84F 82F
Record highs for NYC: 106 & 104
Records highs for ATL: 105 & 104
It gets plenty hot and humid in the Northeast. They don't have summers mild enough to compensate for their miserable winters.

It's a different kind of humid though. The South has that pea soup type humid that the Northeast doesn't.
Not that it doesn't get hot as hell (and a dry heat too) up there and in a city like NYC that's all pavement you can add about 30 degrees to that.
I wouldn't want to deal with their winters. It gets just cold enough for me here in Kentucky.

Really.
Summers are hotter, longer and more miserable in the S.E. than the N.E. and it's not even close. You also happened to choose one of the cooler climates in the SE vs one of the warmest climates of the NE.
Days above 90 degrees

I lived in Groton, CT for a couple years. Once my fascination with the snow wore thin, I was begging to be back in my beloved South Carolina. Southeast is best, hands down and bar none.

No real choice at first. My ex husband was a submariner stationed there. We were in Nautilus Park on Ohio Ave in housing.
After I got prenant, we moved to Ledyard to a nice apt complex. Ledyard was pretty...just nothing to do there.

Extremely! I also remember walking on this frozen lake between Groton and Ledyard where ppl were ice fishing. I took about 3 steps and turned my southern arse around and high tailed it back to land. My name is not Jesus and I ain't walking on water, frozen or otherwise.

Why the hell do you live in a place you hate so much?
