Yeah, that's not too difficult when your OOC is chock full of cupcakes. I'll credit LSU for scheduling Wisky, but that's the jewel in a crown of shithouse opponents.

OT - I went to grad school at ULL and had a lot of friends at LSU. Absolutely loved going to games in Death Valley - hands down the best game day atomsphere of anywhere. The food at the tailgates is unmatched

Yep. They're a good team, too. Our coach helped to build quite a program down there.

How about looking at these facts:

GaTech offense doesn't really match up well against State's Defense. Yes you have the #2 ranked rushing offense but that was coming against an ACC schedule. The only legit chance you have is testing State's weakness in the secondary. Seeing how you have the #120 passing offense, I just don't see that happening.

Also look at how you D matches up against the #9 ranked offense that State fields. Remember that this was accumulated against an SEC West schedule that went up against 4 teams with statistically better defenses than you field.

Finally throw in the fact of your recent bowl history. I believe you are 1-6 in your last 7 bowls. Could it be that since you run a 1950's offense scheme that with plenty of preparation a team can shut down your offense?

Damn Jacket.

You know no one respects your program when our arch rivals fans are in here saying you have no chance. Ouch

Get you facts straight. Wisky is a name only. They played the #38 SOS. There are other OCC opponents played by SEC West teams with better or comparable SOS.

The passing ranking is misleading. If you look at proficiency, it tells a different story. We just don't pass often. We wait for a team to start cheating on the run and then hit them with a big play. We faced three top-ranked defenses (Clemsom, UGAg, F$U) and won 2 of 3. We also faced some so-so defenses loaded with talent in Miami and VT and won those games. I'm not saying that front 7 of MSU isn't great, because they are - NFL talent across the line - but it won't be the first stout defense we've seen.

Which one? The next two in line are WVU for Bama and K-State for Aubbie.

I would be hard pressed to say that UGA or FSU have "top ranked" defenses. Yes UGA is ranked #17 but that was earned against an SEC East schedule (sorry SEC East Ranter but it is true) which is just barely better than an ACC schedule. FSU's defense, or lack there of, was ranked #50 this year. As for Va Tech and Miami, Boomer says "Com'on Man". Va Tech was the model of inconsistency this year and Miami just lost to USCe yesterday.

Now Clemson had the #1 ranked defense this year but once again that was in the ACC. How do you think they would have faired in the SEC?

Hope you realize the bowl committee voted to allow cowbells & during bowl games we basically ring them whenever we want. Even when y'alls QB will be under center.

Those were the 2 of the ones I was thinking about:

KSU = #9 SOS
WVa = #16 SOS
Wisky = #38 SOS

Until we start seeing more cross conference games, it will be hard to say. They lost to a motivated UGAg team, but then beat USCe (who beat UGAg). The ACC was 4-0 against the SEC on rivalry weekend. As to VT and Miami, I didn't say they were great, but simply noted they were loaded with talent (granted, that's based solely on recruiting rankings, which means frick all to me, but seems to be important to everyone else).

They're not really very loud. I think it's great that you get to use them. It's a good tradition.

Okay, so two OOC opponents out of 28 in the top 25 for SOS ... not really a good statistic for the strength of the SEC West.
