Then problem is if people put as much effort into taking back their neighborhoods from thugs within their neighborhood as they do protesting white police officers and incidents involving young black men things would be a bit different IMO. You're right. One gets protested on a national level while the other gets passed off as part of a "culture" because no one wants to "snitch" on "their own".
