Ever thought maybe he's trying to get some security for his assistants? Perhaps the reason he's talking about 2-3 years is because USCe isn't willing to secure his assistants for him.

247's JC Shurburtt was just interviewed on 107.5, here are the main bullets:
1) USC had a very lucrative package set up for Will Muschamp and Spurrier shot it down.
2) USC did not visit Paris Palmer during the contact period - We already knew this but still stings
3) He thinks few staff changes will be made. Probably Johnson and Lawing coming back. Called it "getting the band back together"
4) Marquavious Lewis is wavering. Could be de-commitment number 7.
5) Every assistant we have hired to replace guys like Beamer, Johnson, and Lawing has been a downgrade and that has killed us on the field and on the recruiting trail.
6) Bubba is basically the acting Assistant Head Coach.
7) We are screwed after 2015.

Why would we secure assistants after Spurrier is gone?
