In my opinion, UAB football jumped into Division I (FBS) too soon. I believe they should have stayed Division II or FCS, and could have been successful. There is simply not enough support for an FBS team at UAB. And spare me the "but there are other teams who have fewer in attendance than UAB" drama; many of those that consistently lose the money that UAB was losing will be shut down in the coming years as well.

I never claimed that a student cost decrease would happen, or that any manatees would be saved.
