Did you create your own set of metrics? DB havoc rate would be interesting to see

Ha no way, not nearly smart enough to do that. These are from S&P on footballoutsiders.

quote:

Havoc rate is a pretty simple method for looking at how much hell a defense is raising. Add up tackles for loss (which includes sacks), forced fumbles, and defensed passes (picks and break-ups), divide it by total plays, and voila: havoc rate. The national havoc average in 2013 was 15.9 percent.

They have it measured by Front 7 and DBs, which clearly generally measure different things - TFL, Sacks, tips balls by DL and breakups by DBs.

Top 10 DB Havoc Rate
1. Florida
2. Western Michigan
3. UTEP
4. Ole Miss
5. Virginia Tech
6. Buffalo
7. Louisiana Tech
8. Central Florida
9. Utah State
10. Arizona

I don't know how good a metric it is, but I do know that I obviously watched every down of Alabama this season and the specific metrics seem pretty on par for what my eye tells me.

Alabama
Overall Havoc - 28
Front 7 Havoc - 38
DB Havoc - 26
