I think it'd be pretty dumb to take that one. Hold out for a CUSA or something

Matt,
This is your big break. Don't let this great opportunity pass you by.
Sincerely,

Luke is one of our best recruiters isn't he? I want him to stay.

No. Luke is our weak link by a mile.

Some of our fans who have no idea what they are talking about think he isn't developing players. Yet we continue to get more and more production each season. We will see them disappear next year with these comments one the OL is much better because the talent is much better and more experienced.
Same guys calling for a new OC then Freeze lays the most beautiful designed and executed gameplan of his career against MSU.
Same guys calling Kincade the best thing since sliced bread who have now jumped ship for Swaggy C.
It has to be someone's fault so I guess Luke was most convenient for them to blame. Even though he had the least talent and least experience of any group on the field.

Looks like he's been letting his players underperform all year until the egg bowl. Bad coaching

quote:I'm a Matt Luke fan, but it was peculiar how our offensive line just became amazing during the Egg Bowl and didn't give up any sacks (that I can think of anyway) to one of the best pass rushing teams in the country. They flipped a switch on and went "rape mode" the entire game. Bo never had to worry about getting hit. That was one of the best games I've ever seen Tunsil play. Preston Smith got nowhere near Bo all night long from that side.

Agree with Dores. Next year will be the first time in Luke's tenure here that he has a 2 deep of scholarship players. Luke has turned Justin Bell into a serviceable SEC lineman. That's impressive. People forget how poor of a line Houston Nutt left this team. Justin Bell wasn't meant to be a starter, and Aaron Morris is a shell of his former athletic self.
I'm not claiming Luke is great, but we have a stellar O-line class committed right now that we are about to add to and we don't need to do anything to put that in jeopardy.

Exactly. I'm not saying he is great either. I really don't know. I definitely can't draw much of a conclusion with some of the guys he is having to get production out of right now. Justin Bell only offers were MSU, USM, and Ole Miss out of HS. Fahn Cooper went to BG out of HS. Not really sure about Still but it couldn't have been that impressive and as mentioned Morris has been a overweight slob of a OL who hasn't progressed at all since his freshman season. Hopefully its just the injury with him.
I think the OL production during the MSU game was a product of not running that HB dive every single time on 1st down. We continued to run a dive all year at the weakest point of our OL wondering why we are getting stuffed. It wasn't that it was so much a horrible call but so freaking predictable. Last year on 1st down it was the wr bubble screen(which we abandoned this year) and this year it was that dive play.
They mixed it up. MSU had no freaking clue what was coming next. Field position plays alot in those calls though as well. If you can remember the LSU and Arkansas game we had several times where we had HORRIBLE field position. Hard to call much other than a dive on your own 3 yard line.
