I enjoy reading Coach Pinkels blog. There are some nice motivational hits.
Today's topic...
No Excuses
For some reason it got me fired up about Saturday.
I really think this team believes that there are no excuses. They've proven they believe in this mantra, even in the moments of utmost failure, they've found a way.
Say want you want about Indiana, or a weak East, but these guys didn't fold when the odds were stacked against them. I think we all expected failure over those last three games, they held strong.
If sports gives life lessons, then this years team is about never giving up, even when everyone, even the ones who are supposed to love you unconditionally, have called you out to pasture.
I'm not gonna worry about this CFP stuff, this team is why I love sports, and I'm always glad when I can point to my team and say, "they didn't quit, even when I wanted to say they would."
It sounds corny, but when my team keeps plowing ahead, when it seems that the hubris is stacked against them, and succeeds. Well, it motivates me.
I'm officially pumped for Saturday, and this team has a special place in my heart.

Perfect.
I have a feeling in my gut.
It might be hope.
It might be gas.
It might be premonition.
But win or lose, this has been one of my favorite Tiger football teams ever.

I fricking hate this team.
I've got a feeling it's football two a day hate, though. It really really sucks when you're going through it, but when you look back in retrospect it turns out that it was actually awesome.

You'll learn to love them.
These guys are special. They don't have any of the things we've learned to love about Mizzou teams over the past decade. They are hungry and angry, we've never had a team like this.
These boys work. Blue collar style. There is focus and execution. I didn't like this team until the aTm game, after that, I had a feeling. They might just be special.
Not giving a frick is a profile we've never seen from a Mizzou team, and it's fitting for us fans. I don't think we give a frick anymore either.
Just go and take it. Who gives a shite if these blue bloods think it belongs to them. We aren't living in the shadow of Nub, OU, and Texas anymore. We are fully engaged with this SEC shite.
We beat teams that feel entitled to run amok upon us. Saturday will be no different.
Yet another SEC blue blood that feels entitled to a win.
We'll give them all we've got. It's more than I can say about some of our best teams from the past.

This! 1,000X This!
This is a different kind of team than what we have become accustomed to at MU over the past ten years. They are certainly not very pretty much of the time, but, they just don't quit!
call me a homer all you want(because I am), but, when you can play defense on a high level, then you have a legitimate shot at winning one of these big games finally.

This is one of my favorite teams as well. They've been taking lunch money all year.
To Remote's link... Did anyone else think of Steckel's post-Auburn silence when reading that?
Answering for failure is part of the respect quotient too.

I love Mizzou "everything" but this team is driving me to drink A LOT more than usual, so my liver says "you're killing me guys".
