I suppose the medical school being located in vicinity to the most hospitals had nothing to do with it? How many hospitals does Tuscaloosa have again?

They moved it from Mobile to Birmingham long before the medical industry was the primary aspect of the Jefferson County economy.

More than Tuscaloosa....I'm not sure what your point is.....the medical school was and is the University of Alabama's....what is now UAB developed out of that decision to place the medical school in Birmingham and build out UAB.
