I explained it in my post. basically it boils down to more plays per game equal lower stamina on the defensive side. Now if they are good enough to force short drives and lots of 3 and outs, then its not a big deal, but that isnt going to happen against teams with good offenses, and those teams are going to be facing a wore out defense in the 4th.

Its not about TOP, its about number of plays. Those 2 things dont ALWAYS correlate.

Bama ran 872 plays in 2014 and Auburn ran 873.

Still, Alabama ran pretty much the same number of plays this season.

Auburn's offense will put pressure on the defense at times. But a serviceable defense with a strong offense can win championships. A strong offense and bad defense, and you're going to the Belk Bowl.
