This person knows him from Madison Central and apparently shut him the frick up AND unleashed the masses on his Facebook account

Wow, Lynch (Ghost of Jay Cutler). You’ve come a long way in your development since being that confused middle-of-high-school-career private to public school kid transfer. After reading your “hate week” article, I contemplated for a couple days before deciding to respond. You see, my father made me memorize ”never make the poor man conscious of his poverty, the obscure man of his obscurity, or any man of his inferiority or deformity.” However, there comes a time in our life when we observe a man, so lost he is in his delusion, that another is compelled to do the only remaining thing appropriate: To bring him face to face with reality. Because of this a reply is necessary. Not merited, but necessary.

I don’t know if any of these points will make any sense to you. There’s nowhere for me to go when ‘we got Katy Perry; you got Jonathan Papelbon’ is presented as a credible argument for which athletic department is better. It seems that your metric for success is in a completely different universe. A much less valid one. I honestly don’t understand what weird unnatural evolution Ole Miss has gone through to where all you care about is “Ole Miss” and on the field results don’t matter. One group is a fan of a sports team and says ‘my team is better; we will see on the field' while the other group is a fan of a sports team (I guess?) and says ‘we are cooler than you’.

It’s astonishing, really. Your article IS the joke about Ole Miss winning the party. “The real reason MSU fans hate us so much is because they could beat us at every sport and competition that exists for the next 100 years, and they still wouldn’t be better than us. They ultimately know that their station beneath us in life is not something they can win back on any field of play, and it eats them up. I have no hate this week, just pity for those that are not and never will be my equal.”

Holy God, what universe do you live in? You have so radically separated yourself from reality that the only coping mechanism left to you is a sad detachment and separation from the world fueled by nothing else than pure egoism. The type of cognitive dissonance you are embodying is legitimately scary. If by being “above” us in station you mean the First World ambition-less mediocrity of my ole miss grad banking teller who is destined for meaningless upper middle class pretentiousness, have at it, bud. I expected better writing from you. You are “cool”? Do I really need to remind you that you’re the school with bumper stickers claiming your win over a national champion? That was a thing, man. But hey, it makes sense, given the proud 2003 “western championship” banner in your stadium. Maybe if things don’t go our way we will see more of those bumper stickers this year.

You try and tout Oxford’s Double Decker as synonymous with your university. It’s not. Our students have brought Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, Hank Williams, Jr., Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks, Bon Jovi, OAR, James Taylor, Widespread Panic, The Allman Brothers, Jimmy Buffett, Three 6 Mafia and hundreds of others to play at our University. In what universe does Katy Perry top Big K.R.I.T., Snoop Dogg, and if you could still ask him, Notorious B.I.G.?

“There's the callously wielded and tragically insensitive racial angle, or the wild idea that Mississippi State is some sort of paragon of diverse virtue and that Ole Miss is deliberately the opposite.” That sentence literally disgusts me. You can’t just not talk about something in your past because you decide people can’t talk about it. You have no right to quiet history. Who are you to quiet the students of my University that were staging sit-ins on our President’s front lawn in protest of segregated athletics while yours a couple months later were rioting for segregation? What was your student newspaper writing about segregated athletics when ours challenged the status quo and said "Should a dynamic university be led by a man with the intelligence to make a decision on the merits of the case and the guts to back it up? Or, should it be led by a man, who out of fear for his job, would listen to and be persuaded by politicians who are usually trying to create votes?" I’m proud of our history. Proud of those boys who snuck out of the state to play a game of basketball. Proud that our legacy is alive and well as national leaders in awarding bachelor degrees in engineering to African Americans.

The irony of you calling a fan video “embarrassing, campy silliness” is not lost on me. I’ll take a million of those fans and even more of those videos any day of the week. You know why? Your embarrassing has no “campy silliness” in it. No, your embarrassing is videos of students rioting after a presidential re-election. Your embarrassing are student sailor wannabes tying fashionable knots on old statues. Your embarrassing embarrasses me.

You say “unremarkable”; I say one of only five universities in the nation to host a presidential library. But you’re right. We have nothing to “shake a stick at”. There’s no use talking to delusional. It just had to be said once and for all. Bob, I don’t recall you ever lettering in a sport at Madison Central. Let me explain something that you may have not learned while captaining the Quiz Bowl team: Football isn’t about Big Bad Breakfast or Hardees. It’s about getting hit in the mouth. Cheers. I just don't understand the urge to write the initial article. People can sell it as some sort of tradition and that's fine, but it doesn't make the reasoning behind starting the "tradition" any more fathomable. Not even a clever troll.
