Either Mullen likes to turn off the entire state of Texas or he is stalling Virgil for an impending move to Florida.

He wasn't very ingratiating fl FL HS coaches or recruits either. It's one of the reason he'll not be next at UF IMO. That and he loves Starkville because it's awesome there and there's no pressure to win.

The kid has an offer from Florida. 3 guesses were he winds up and the first 2 don't count.

Mullen knows Dak is coming back next year and doesn't want him buried in the depth chart. We already have more QB talent on the sidelines than State has ever had. The kid has offers from great schools. He will be picked up by the end of the day today.

I mean, I agree it's shitty, but your Subject line is misleading at best.

Another reason why I follow recruiting very loosely until they sign the national letter of intent.

State has 1 good yr and now they are yanking schollies. Nice job, Mullen. When yall are back in the cellar next year, doing this shite won't help the perception.

It's all good, this will all be forgotten after signing day. We will still get Texas recruits here and there, even though we don't really need them. If I were an LSU fan and Miles did something like this, I'd be concerned, but not with us. Even though I don't agree with the way Mullen handled the situation, the kid will probably be fine and get to play qb in a league that's more suited to his skills and smaller size.

Good grief! What happened to my thread?

I leave to go watch a HS playoff game, go home and go to bed. I wake up this morning to get ready for another round of HS playoff games at Jerry world. I check the rant before I head out to watch Allen vs Desoto at 11am and see the thread has turned into a a couple of internet tough guys in cyber combat.

Get back to the subject...a D1 football coach screwing an 18 year old kid out of a promised scholarship.
