This is just for fun and giggles...but a certain color guy doing Monday Night Football in the booth would send shockwaves in the SEC.

You talk about recruiting? The pied piper would bring them in by the droves and make Bama look silly. Afraid too much NFL in him though. Still has the condo on the beach though in Redington.

Players would be listening to his every word trying to springboard to the pros and he would possess a lot of contacts to the next level. Just don't think he wants to recruit 17-18 yr olds that much...or babysit them and make sure they attend classes or interact with the university lifestyle.

I don't have anything against Gruden, but he hasn't coached in 6 years, I don't think he goes back in anytime soon. Quite honestly, I don't blame him. Still Getting paid lots of $$$ to travel/watch and talk football

Pass on Gruden. The guy has never been a college head coach and hasn't coached at the college level since 1991. Also, his win percentage is worse than Muschamps.

Best possible hire that won't happen is obviously Tim Tebow.

If anyone can save Florida, it's him.

I really have no interest in Gruden. Yeah, he would bring in recruits for a little while, but the guy has a pretty mediocre record. One Super Bowl, and then?

He's not quite as bad as Gene Chizik, but he definitely had a pretty steady decline after that one year. Out of the next six season, he never won another playoff game, and three of them were losing seasons as well.

So you get a good recruiting class or two until, at least if his history is a guide, it becomes clear that Florida is a mediocre team that occasionally has a pretty good season. Why would you want to play for that when you can go play for a Saban who has a big name AND delivers?

Then we end up back where we are right now, except we probably owe the coach a helluvalot more money to get him out of town.
