On the flip side I also often see people talk about going to visiting stadiums and acting like every tailgate calls them over and treats them like kings and offers them feasts and some alone time with any woman in the group of their choosing etc...

I've never experienced either of those things, good or bad, in dozens of away trips. It's always the same. People mostly minding their own business a couple of guys who yell out something a couple of guys will to try have a conversation about the game and then everyone goes on their way.

Who does this stuff actually happen to?

Everyone else but you and me

I've received the King's treatment before, but only because I already knew people at the tailgate I was visiting which led to me being introduced and welcomed by even more people. Never have I just sauntered up to a random tailgate and been immediately welcomed with plentiful bounties of beer and hot food by complete strangers like some claim.

Me too. I've never had problems or been treated overly nice. Worst I can think of is getting yelled at in auburn and baton rouge but it was like three or four dudes and an API fan refusing to sell me a ticket because I was wearing a Bama hat (dude should probably be commended for his loyalty). 99% of the people at either school treated me like I treat visiting fans.
