What does the insurance policy state? I would have assumed it only pays out if he can no longer play football. Not for an injury.
I believe it pays out on a sliding scale for any injury that impacts his pro earning potential, but I may be wrong about that.

I don't believe in karma. I wish him a speedy recovery before the draft.

Interesting. Another question, UGA has a policy for him? Would that not be a benefit? I wouldn't think that would be permissible.
I am not being a dick, just have never heard of a school doing this.

Well, that fricking sucks for him. He could have been a first rounder. Might still, but the injury could scare off what few NFL teams would be looking for a RB in the first round.
Sucks for UGA too, if Chubb has a bad game.
Then again, there was one particularly moronic UGA poster here wishing Gurley would get hurt, calling him a "traitor" for getting into trouble with the NCAA. I guess that frickwit is happy now.

wow, bad news for him, sorry to hear it.
Best thing he can do now is get well and hope to get a draft spot.
Not many teams can say it but UGA can absorb that loss.

An insider said that the policy would pay out at least 2.5million even just for dropping, so he will have a better nest egg than most college graduates regardless, but it still sucks.
schools are now allowed to pay up to a certain amount for insurance policies.

This is a very good thing. Is it a blanket "team" policy? Do you have to be selected as one of only a few to get it?

If I understand correctly, the NCAA allows schools to pay the premiums, basically as a loan to the player. Not sure though

Damn. I hate GA, but respect the hell out of TG as a RB.

All the black talking heads on ESPN will have Richt's head now. They were all saying Gurley shouldn't come back at all because Georgia threw him under the bus they gonna have something to point at as evidence now.

Yeah, but those policies usually don't pay out unless the injury is career ending.

That's stupid. College student athletes are the only people on scholarship at any university that can't profit off of their own image. It's absurd.
