I'm surprised he's finishing the year. I thought firing him made sense so he couldn't win the FSU game and save his job, but it would be weird if they won that game now.

Happened with Zook, and it still happened with Zook.

Just getting home from LONG drive from Arkansas. I read a little about Coach Muschamp's decision to leave. Obviously, I think Florida finishes with a winning record this season. Any word if he will coach the bowl game or has Florida decided not to accept an invitation to any bowl this season?

Triple Option?

Not sure if serious.

It's more zone read than triple option, Paul Johnson moved away from it after Georgia Southern after going to the Navy, and even further at GT.

It's a triple option at its base but is almost identical to what Malzahn runs now. Based on the caliber of athlete he's dealing with seems to determine how true he stays to the form.

Not really. Johnson runs a true triple option out of the flexbone formation (QB under center with a FB directly behind him and 2 WBs offset to the QB's left and right side).

Malzahn basically runs a version of the Delaware wing T playbook out of the shotgun formation.

While looking like an idiot the entire way -- throwing major tantrums on the sideline.

You can forget about Chip. He should take the Eagles deep into the playoffs

yeah no

The Eagles will lose the first game they play in the playoffs, if they get in.

It was coming. I thought they'd wait until the end of the season though.

Always thought this too, to save face. These days, it's best to get the jump on finding a replacement and put in the interim and call this season a wash.

Plenty of time to put out feelers for who is going to be available and get the one you want, beat the others to him, and give him time to recruit before NSD.
