It also buys boredom and early checkouts from life when you have nothing to strive for in life. Don't get me wrong, if I won the lottery tomorrow, I wouldn't turn it down. However, there's a reason most people end up miserable after having won it. As you get older, you really do realize that it's not money or material things that make you happy. And anyone who thinks it will cure the ills that make you unhappy, just really hasn't had much life experience.
