Alabama-Auburn rarely means anything at all except for last year and in 2010. Other than that, it is rare that both teams are really good.

God you are a stupid kid. The Auburn vs Bama rivalry has been competitive 10x longer than the program of LSU has.

We usually have one team good at a time. I was at the Iron Bowl in Birmingham in 1994 when both teams were undefeated. I understand that sometimes both teams are good. And, yes, it has been going on a long time. I get it.

The Alabama-Auburn game is huge in Alabama. No one else really cares about it unless you have a situation like last year.

SVP is talking about national perception and national importance. I get that Alabama fans have the vested interest in saying that Tennessee is their rival and Auburn is second - or vice versa. Honestly, I do not care about what Alabama fans think or who they hate. They are irrelevant to me.

I am talking about the actual teams and the games. But, yes, it is true that when Saban leaves the game won't matter anymore because Alabama will slink back to mediocrity again.
