Missouri had some of the most badass Confederates in the whole army......
The confederate cemetery in Fayetteville has a monument with four sides each side has a state, Missouri, Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. Missouri is on the northern side and the closest grave is a Confederate General from Missouri.
Thats all for your Fayetteville history lesson today.
I've visited this graveyard before, when I was a kid, and oddly it's only a couple of counties away from Fayette Mo.

Most of the folks who were living in MO in the early to mid 1800's all came from the south. When the war started MO was one of the craziest, nastiest places you could have imagined to find yourself. One of the reasons a lot of folks in MO did not like the Union was the way they came in and took over, whether you believed in the slave shite (and many did not) the people living in MO did not like the Feds forcing their will on the people. Kinda like what's going on today.
