That team went undefeated and was loaded with 6 All Americans and a Heisman winner at his peak. Alabama had one of the toughest schedules in the country and beat #1&2 in consecutive games. 10 opponents were bowl eligible if I remember it right. #1 defense in the country that year as well.

That team was loaded dude. And every member of that GOAT defense was somewhere on that 2009 roster's 2-3 deep if they weren't already starting. The all purpose special team returner ended his career with the 2nd most return yards in NCAA HISTORY, right behind Wes Welker. As far as talent goes, that Bama team surpasses nearly every other champion in depth, talent as noted, and flat out ballers.

The three deep at running back was a Heisman, a Doak Walker award winner, and a future NFL OROY and Pro Bowler. I mean God damn.

That team also never played the 2011 LSU team. That 2009 team ran into plenty of trouble along the way as well.

The one loss will forever be a factor in the all time threads for the 11 team. But without that game, 1/9/12 never happens and that is what puts them over the top for me.

95 Nebraska might have scored 14 against that D.
