they threw a big fit over lsu using a picture of them and photoshopping the cross out. you would have thought they had been hung up on the cross themselves.
It was pretty silly for LSU to do. Pointless actually. I think it just irritated the group that they were using them for publicity, but also altering certain images.

I think photoshopping out the crosses was pretty messed up IMO. If they want to use their image, at least use a true representation, not a photoshopped version. I think the whole idea is you can be a good religious/faithful person and have a good time and they felt like LSU tried to remove that from them.
It's a very important symbol to them and I wouldn't be happy if similar happened to me.
They should've just not used a picture of them. But LSU obviously can't put a cross on their marketing material. Its a public state funded college.

Totally agree. That is the point. Use it or not, but don't change it. Reflects on the guys who you take the photo from.

exactly. Don't use the pic. But even if you do, they didn't ahve to edit it. Very few actually caught on that they were a religious group. The cross was small.
Most people were irritated because it was an example of PC gone too far.

Agree to disagree. There is an end goal to it, and its not to win . If done correctly, everyone wins.
But I digress, because I don't care what they do to have fun, just stating my opinion on a message board to waste time at work between meetings. They are good fans I guess, so to each his own.

Ehh, either don't use it or edit it with permission. You just can't present LSU as a Christian university because its public and state funded. Non-Christian tax dollars help fund it too. It this was Tulane, go for it. That's the beauty of private enterprise.
ETA:
but obviously using an edited version without permission is hog wash.

So you can show people who don't have Christian values cause it's a public school but not some that do have Christain values. You are part of the problem sir.

How do parents with small children react when they play it?
You can't tell what they are saying until someone tells you. And then it's really clear.
I heard it several times and always thought "What the hell are they saying?" Finally asked and the next time I say "yep, sure is."
So, I assume parents just don't tell the kids what is being said and they don't know any better.
eta: And JC was all up in that video. Ye ye

wut
It went on official LSU stuff. Did they show a mosque or Jewish kid with his yamaka?
Its supposed to be religiously neutral.
I think you may be a part of the problem.

Pretty much. I'm not going to lie, it's pretty trashy. But it seems like requests, pleas, demands to get them to stop only make it worse. So we have to deal with it until enough students recognize how classless it is.
And that song pumped up the crowd before students started adding STTDB, but maybe it does amplify the energy for the students.

I think if the most popular players asked them to stop, they would.
Thats the only way.
