Ah, my mistake. I thought they were an official fraternity now.
i mean they may be. But it would be in the same sense as business fraternities. It's not like they have a house or fraternity row or anything.

The neck is awesome. Laugh everytime I hear it. How do parents with small children react when they play it?

By starting threads on the Tiger Rant. As predictable as traffic complaints or leave early complaints.

i don't have children, but it's embarrassing to me personally when i'm with someone who isn't an lsu fan. i hate it. i think the interaction with the band and students is great with the dancing and whatnot, but adding profanity to literally just about every song is annoying. the band no longer plays a lot of the songs i grew hearing

Probably not, I figure if they are on campus on gameday they've already heard that much by kickoff. I would just use it as a teachable moment for my kids, if I had them. I never said it in my time but I can appreciate a well-timed STTDB in a big game.
ETA: on 11/5/11 I was in the visitor's student section of the uppers at BDS and people started doing it with no music, I thought that was pretty dumb. There was also a kid who ran up and down taking pom-poms off seats before Bama fans sat there and stashing them in our section to throw later. He was escorted away by TPD before kickoff

I guess it can be considered classless but I hope y'all don't stop playing it. It's funny and probably pumps the crowd up something fierce.

they pretty much did stop playing it. they'll bring it back every once in awhile for a game, the students chant STTDB, and it goes away again.

Short of big plays, it gives the stadium more volume than anything else. Something that the complainers never acknowledge. I don't go to football games to see classy people. Sure, be nice outside the stadium and at restaurants/bars, but at the game I hate anything that isn't purple and gold.

not defending these guys because I dont know them personally, but you are being kind of a douche. who cares what they do to have fun

i think they're pretty lame. they threw a big fit over lsu using a picture of them and photoshopping the cross out. you would have thought they had been hung up on the cross themselves.

Well, they're playing it this weekend fwiw...

I've known a few and they are good people. I think some drink, just not in excess. They are a religious group first and foremost so when they are together they probably feel weird drinking, but I knew one pretty closely that would drink when he was with us.
Either way, they are good Tiger fans and I don't care what they do to have fun. Beer Pong is a fun game whether it has beer or not.

I think photoshopping out the crosses was pretty messed up IMO. If they want to use their image, at least use a true representation, not a photoshopped version. I think the whole idea is you can be a good religious/faithful person and have a good time and they felt like LSU tried to remove that from them.
It's a very important symbol to them and I wouldn't be happy if similar happened to me.
