The committee should select the 4 teams with the best resumes regardless of conference, imo.

It would be a shame and an affront to logical thinking if they considered past sugar bowl performances.

in those years everyone was debating the same SEC is best argument, and more often than not the SEC was beaten. In some cases in embarrassing fashion.

Yes. If two teams are basically dead even, then they'll give the nod to the conference champion if one of them is not.

That's how they're going to do it.
