They aren't human polls, they are advanced stats much like SABR in baseball that rank teams on offense, defense, special teams, etc based on performance. There are 4-5 that are all independent of eachother and all come up with the same results.

Absolutely agree, but how can any of them have OU ranked ahead of KSU today? OU has more losses, and lost at home to KSU. Doesn't that say the computer has a virus?
