If anything Bama is too high right now. Michigan State has basically the same loss and a better win. I don't know how they got such favorable treatment honestly. TCU has a better resume, as do KSU and Baylor.
MSU beat #15 at home, Alabama beat #20 at a neutral site. MSU lost to #5 on the road by 3 touchdowns, Alabama lost to #4 on the road by 6 with a chance to win the game at the end.
Alabama has wins over (FPI rank)
#27 WVU
#29 Florida
#21 Arkanas
#16 Texas A&M
#33 Tennessee
Michigan State has wins over (FPI rank)
#24 Nebraska
#83 Purdue
#74 Indiana
#51 Michigan

I'm not trying to be a dick about this, but those rankings are just a joke. A&M is not a top 20 team, they have been blown out 3 weeks in a row. UF is a complete dumpster fire. Tennessee is 2 years away from being top 25
Michigan, like UF, complete dumpster fire. Indiana, 3-4 Indiana, beat Mizzou at Mizzou, but agreed they suck.
I don't understand FPI I guess. And ESPN's explanation doesn't have a formula anywhere. I mean the FPI has OU as the top Big 12 team, 15 spots ahead of a team who beat them at their house.
I don't understand!!
