I said here on this board in 2011 before the game against Alabama that whoever won that game should play for a National Championship and there should be no rematch. And, that was when LSU was playing on the road.

Alabama lost AT HOME and still wiggled into a rematch. If LSU has lost on the road, they would not have gotten the rematch, I do not believe.

But, yes. I have been consistent on this.

We should just have conference champions play. If you cannot win your conference or division, then you should not lay claim to a NATIONAL title. It is bogus.
