1 plays 4 in Los Angeles. 2 plays 3 in New Orleans.

Did you watch the game? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say we wouldn't turn it over on our first two plays again giving them perfect field position both times to go up 14-0
I'm also going to go out on a limb and say State wouldn't have turn the ball over as much either.
You see how that works?
Each side can says "oh, well I doubt this wouldn't happen", but let's face it, if it happened once, it would probably happen again.

a fake punt turned interception.
Blame that on Mullen being greedy. Stupid call.

Curb stomped would be what Auburn did to LSU
A curb stomp is when you take a victim, put their mouth on the curb and stomp them from behind. Typically killing them or causing life altering damage. It's pretty vicious and nasty.
If you were to parlay that to football, because you don't have much class and don't understand the term, I wouldn't equate it to Auburn's 41-7 win over LSU. Wouldn't even consider the Bama 59-0 win over A&M a curb stomp.
The only thing that I have ever seen that would equate to a curb stomp is the LSU loss to Bama in the national championship. It was nasty considering both teams had weeks to prepare and were familiar with each other. It might have set LSU back for years.
Auburn down by 8 in the 4th quarter despite their turnover plagued start isn't a curb stomp. I agree with you.

It's still so weird to me that I think State is so good, but then they're dead last in the SEC in total defense, passing defense, and red zone offense (according to Mullen's press conference).
How can they be the most complete team if they struggle that badly on the back end of their defense? They have the best defensive line in the conference, IMO. Do they get enough pressure on the QB to make up for their average (at best) defensive backs?

Probably
Only test is Ole Miss and I think that's very winnable. Basically a home game at Jordan Hare West to close it out

We're one of the better defenses inside the red zone..

You go up 30 in every game and shut down the run, forcing the other team to pass the entire game while you are getting 3rd and 4th string DBs and DL reps.

That's key. Defensive line really comes into play there.

Why no? He's supposed to be ready in November, his original earliest return date was Nov 1 against Ole Miss
Not sure how much that has changed

Just saying with Lawson back if our offense played to it's full potential I still don't think Auburn could stay with us.
People underestimate our Defense and I enjoy that.

quote:Yep, considering Auburn had a nack for making their mistakes at the best possible times State to look good. Stat wise Auburn did just as good in worse situations. Other than that game state blew out 2 extremely overrated teams. By the time Auburn has beaten top 10 teams in OM, UGA, and bama and KSU wins the big 12 people will want a rematch.
Yep, 9-6 is pretty similar to 38-23...
