Pretty high-priced attorney to retain if you don't think you're in any trouble. This speculation really isn't all that ridiculous either.
He is a good lawyer, but this speculation is based on the theory that his is strictly a criminal attorney, which he isn't, and this theory/speculation is getting to an ATPB level.

Not even close, unless you're reading too much into these comments looking at the possibility of legal action and what it could be based on.

From his website:
EDWARD T. M. GARLAND ESQ.
Edward T. M. Garland Esq. practicing in personal injury and criminal defense.
From Superlawyers website:
Practice Areas: Criminal Defense: White Collar (50%), Personal Injury - General: Plaintiff (30%), Personal Injury - Products: Plaintiff (20%)
On his website, he lists his specialties as personal injury and criminal defense.
On superlawyers website, it states that 50% of his cases are criminal defense. 30% personal injury general, and 20% personal injury products.
Based on this information, 2+2=4. Considering this case breakdown, I would say this would be more for criminal defense. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck.
It's not a stretch to think that he was hired for criminal defense.
