Non-Barners: Would You Bench Nick Marshall for Jeremy Johnson
I've said this before, and I'll say this again (time to barn hard)...

For the 2014 offense, Jeremy Johnson would probably be the better fit. We have so many weapons out wide on offense. Sammie Coates, Duke Williams, CJ Uzomah, RiCardo Louis, Melvin Ray, Quan Bray and so forth... Jeremy Johnson would sling the ball all over the yard like we saw against a much improved Arkansas defense. We would almost definitely pass for over 300 yards every game and Jeremy Johnson would likely be in the Heisman race.

For the 2013 and 2015 Auburn offenses, Nick Marshall would fit best. Not quite as many weapons outside, high quality running backs and stellar offensive line play. Nick Marshall was the perfect fit for the 2013 offense and he was surrounded by so many players that he could mesh his abilities with.

However, with all of that being said, Nick Marshall has only lost 3 games as Auburn's starting quarterback and he lead us to both the National and SEC Championship last year. He's extremely clutch at the end of the game and he's trusted by the staff. You cannot replace him right now. You don't try to fix what isn't broken. He's been so much better than any opposing fans care to admit. He has a cannon for an arm, improved passing and is one of the fastest players in the SEC.

if we had a RB who was a threat and better oline play maybe JJ would be better. we dont have that.

There were definitely a few plays that Marshall made where you just had to give it up to him. I wasn't even mad...nothing you can do about it.

FIFY

Marshall does overthrow some, but our WRs drop a lot too. Cant put it all on Marshall.

I think this is the biggest assumption that Auburn Fans calling calling for JJ are making. However, as has been stated, the fact that we can't pass block would likely negate this with a non-experienced QB.

This is how I feel about Marshall. The dude has ice water in his veins and I hope we get things turned around so that he gets the recognition he deserves. Not only from outsiders but from Auburn fans as well.
