FSU and Note Dame play each other. The winner will have a case for #1 and both are media darlings. Meanwhile, we beat UT and we will be 7-0. Will State fall 2 spots to 3rd as they should since they will only be 6-0 with the bye? Or, will we get screwed and still just ranked 3rd even though we will have a better record?

I think it doesn't matter and it is aggravating as frick when people harp on rankings mid season.

State will not fall on a bye weekend and don't deserve to fall either. If we win, we will stay at third. Florida State/Notre Dame and State will be 1 and 2.

Keep in mind that MSU beat 3 top 10 teams in a row. While we beat #1 Bama the way the played Ark hurt us. Also TAMU wasn't ranked as high when we beat them. If FSU beats ND they'll jump State in one of the polls. Even if we win convincingly we won't jump State.

This is why preseason polls are useless. MSU was obviously better then what the were ranked preseason while LSU, USCe, and many others had no business being ranked at all, especially not in the top 10.
If USCe wasn't horribly overrated, A&M would have never even made their way into the top 10 and LSU is absolutely horrid.
I think MSU is a really good team, and probably one of the most complete teams in the country, but they definitely benefitted from some preseason shitty rankings.

The only poll/ranking that matters is the last one. They can rank us 25th as long as we keep winning.

Only game I worry about is the next one... Really seems like our players and coaches do the same... Almost everyone on this board said we'd have a let down at aTm and I watched us return a fumble for a TD in the 4th quarter from the 3rd deck and 45000 Aggies head to the exits... They are focused on TN and you should be too Fireman... You're mildly retarded and probably walk with a limp but damn if I don't love you.

Only reason i wasnt worried about a letdown game was because i knew playing A&M they wanted payback for the past 2 years. Also playing at A&M in front of a crazy 107K+ i knew our guys would get pumped.
Now if that game would have been in Oxford I wouldnt have worried a little bit more. No way the crowd could have recreated what we did against Bama and I would be worried our team wouldnt get as up.
But now since we are returning home after a big road win i know our crowd will be ready for this weekend....CANT WAIT
