Well, the most rural place I have ever lived was State College, PA and I found that kind of slow. I love me a happy medium like JAX tbh. Has a city and a lot to do but it isn't so jam packed and annoying as living in the middle of ATL. But if I had to choose I'd live in the city because that's what I am used to.
That all said, I think you could find a nice place around here to commute to those jobs. I have only been there a dozen times or so but it always seemed the area around the Hamilton Mill exit off of 85 was far enough from urban sprawl but also provided you the opportunity for a manageable commute and access to shite in the city. And you're that much close to UGA. Hell, you could live in Jefferson off of 85, be right next to UGA, and have like a 30-40 min commute to Duluth if ya really wanted to keep it country. Same with Flowery Branch.

Great thinking SthGADawg!
I grew up in Morrow, GA. Which 10-15 years ago was still semi-country or not to far to ride out to Henry County to the country. Now it's a cesspool. Moved to Randolph County Alabama 11 years ago. It's very country here. I drive 45 mins to work in Carrollton everyday. I wouldn't even move to Carrollton.
In 2007-2008 I went to work at Delta and made the two hour commute to the Atl Airport everyday from Alabama. People would always ask me why I didn't just move back up to the metro area. There was no way I would take my kids and subject them to that cesspool. So I think you are making the right decision.

Where in Duluth? It makes a difference, the north side of Sugarloaf area is a Duluth zip code (30097) all the way down on State Bridge also.
You can still find some "country" for now in Cumming and Brasleton area north and Loganville, Dacula, Auburn to the east.

The city has very little to do except hot humid Jax games. Some good restaurants, but few concerts of any note (with a few exceptions). Unless you live out near Ponte Vedra and like to golf, it can be very boring. Just my experience. I am sure someone will rise up and disagree, and that's fine. I like Atlanta much better (except for the no beach thing).

It's very cold in Duluth, Minnesota.

Canton area in Cherokee County. Ga. Hwy 20 will get you towards Duluth. Brazelton area off I-85. Johns Creek area towards Cumming is good. East or south of Cumming is ok.Try to avoid any drive time commute on Ga 400. Horrible traffic. Dacula area is good. Not too far away from Duluth.

I live in Buford and commute to Duluth. I would not live in Duluth. I would live in John's Creek and I have been a Gwinnett County resident my entire life.

this is likely how i would do it...if i were to go...its not out of the question but i was talking with the wife earlier...basically the $ would have to be perfect for us to do it and it would take some investigation to find what would fit us...the 1 job is in Duluth just north of 85...and the other is in Norcross....meh...we shall see...about Jax...i love the place....lived off of San Pablo for awhile and in Ponte Vedra before moving north to Camden...we always had something to do..but i would rather piss razor blades than live down there now...

JAX, the downtown itself, sucks. It's god awful. It's the landing and then businesses. But I really like Atlantic Beach, obviously, but I like all the suburbs of JAX like San Marco. If I lived in JAX I'd prop my happy arse up in San Marco.

I used to live in Auburn. It's right outside of Dacula. The schools in the area are pretty good and it's right off 316
