First of all, congrats of beating Alabama last weekend. That was the one bright spot of an otherwise shitty Saturday for me. OM has always been easily my second favorite team in tSEC (actually y'all are the only other school I like) and I couldn't be happier to see you guys beat those pieces of shite from Tuscaloosa. Hugh Freeze definitely has Ole Miss on the right track and I've got my fingers crossed that Butch can get the VOLS to make that big jump in year 3 too.
Im planning on making my first trip to Oxford next week and I need some help. I've already got my best orange bow tie and my orange and white checkerboard pants ready so I'll fit it but I do need to know where to stay, what to do etc. Obviously, I'm dying to check on the Grove on game day but I'm not familiar with the area whatsoever so I would appreciate some tips on restaurants, hotels and the bar scene.
TIA

Welcome to the board. As far as lodging look at Craigslist where a lot of people list their places for weekend rent. If those are out of your range then look at hotels in the Oxford area, Batesville or Tupelo.
Restaurants: Ajax, City Grocery or Boure if you can wait out the line. If not, Rib Cage or Soulshine are good secondary options on the Square.
Bars: Go to the Library. It is worth the cover and a lot of fun. If you don't want to do that, go to Burgundy Room or Roosters.

We've been pleading with Dmagic to sticky a Visitor's Bureau thread for months. He's too busy making sandwiches...
Stay at the Ole Miss Inn if you can.
Eat at Snack Bar for dinner and Big Bad Breakfast if you can get there early enough.
Have drinks wherever there's not a $20 cover.

Holler at me I'll be down there and know a lot about the area
And their right, even if it's a $20 cover it's worth it to experience the library if it's just once
