No, I have had a hard time believing prayer can change one's sexual preference. I do believe one can deny their own desires based on a religious beliefs system.

This

It's really no different than an alcoholic who stops drinking. Not one of them will tell you they just stopped craving alcohol one day. They simply came a point where they believed the consequences outweighed the desire to drink.

If the choice is gay sex now or Heaven later, and you truly believe those to be your options, that isn't really a choice at all.

I'd guess we would disagree about God's interaction with this world.
