NO there is no scientific evidence, but yes they are. Not in the manner you think though. I believe it is meta-physical. We are all born into sin, and we are each born with temptations to different sins. Attraction itself is not a sin, but it is a temptation. Temptation, if we make the CHOICE to do so, can become sin. It is like anything else in life. You have a choice. However the temptation, or attraction, to the opposite sex is something that might go away through time, or not.
This sin is the same as my sin. I do not judge. Well, try not to. Some make it hard when they expect us to be silent while they scream and yell about their lifestyle.
This is a stupid workaround for trying to make the assertion that someone can be born gay, just the way God made them, and still be "living in sin".
Being gay isn't a sin. I know this makes it easier for you because at all costs, you must defend the "word of God", but it's the reality of the matter.
You'll always be a Christian, and more power to you, but eating bacon, fricking a chick on her period, letting some dude plow you in the butt... these are all sins in Deuteronomy. If you want to live your life by an archaic set of rules written by tribal elders making up stories so they could control their villages, so be it... but stop wasting energy in the battle. You'll never sell your idea of sin on homosexuality to gay dudes/lesbos. You can make a liar stop telling lies. You can't make someone attracted to a cock attracted to a pussy or vice versa. How many success stories are there of people finding God and turning their lives around? Millions. How many pray away the gay success stories? None. Quit it. The Bible is wrong on this.

Congrats on failing hermeneutics.

Loving the sinner hating the sin is the more PC way for Christians to say they still hate gay people.
