I think gay people are really born that way.

You're a piece of work.
Because I'm calling out someone for sticking to a claim that's been proven time and time again to be wrong? How many "Christians" have claimed pray away the gay works and have been full of shite? Lying through their teeth? But THIS guy has seen it work? Sorry. It's a lie. It's always been a lie. Pray away the gay camps have failed time and time again.

I'd guess we would disagree about God's interaction with this world.
Of that I'm certain. Since its unprovable, best to not go down that circle of argument. You believe, I do not. Both systems work for us in our lives. I find this conclusion acceptable.

My question would then be, could any discovery ever convince you otherwise?
When the discovery is made, then there is a real conversation. Until then, people will believe what they believe. What's the point in trying to change someone else's mind?

You can't possibly be serious? "Pray away the gay camps" are stupid as frick anyway.
Let's say you are a thief. I want you to quit, so I pray for you to stop. You're not going to stop just because I'm praying for you. God may present things in your life to lead you away from being a thief, but until you make the decision for yourself, no one else's prayer is going to make you quit.
So the first sentence you posted of being proven time and time again to be wrong is what is actually full of shite.

What in the world are you talking about?

I'm not "sticking to" anything. I'm relaying some anecdotal evidence. "Conversion therapy" or even just a change in self-identification is going to be problematic for anyone. I'd expect it not to "take" for more than a few people. But we have those types of results in all sorts of therapy. To me, that speaks more to the human condition (both positive and negative) than it necessarily speaks to the malleability of sexuality.

You can't change someone's sexual orientation with therapy. My God. Stop. Stop it with this lie. Stop it. Lying is a sin.

NO there is no scientific evidence, but yes they are. Not in the manner you think though. I believe it is meta-physical. We are all born into sin, and we are each born with temptations to different sins. Attraction itself is not a sin, but it is a temptation. Temptation, if we make the CHOICE to do so, can become sin. It is like anything else in life. You have a choice. However the temptation, or attraction, to the opposite sex is something that might go away through time, or not.
This sin is the same as my sin. I do not judge. Well, try not to. Some make it hard when they expect us to be silent while they scream and yell about their lifestyle.
ughh that hurt to read, I'm sure there is much worse in this thread though.

So I'm lying, too, when I say I know someone that has turned away from his gayness?
