Last year's record is the most telling metric in how good a team will be this year. Sort of like how Auburn went 3-9 in 2012 and 11-1 the next year.
Auburn had a coaching change and greatly underachieved. The schools Bama played are general garbage schools, minus UF with the same coach. Plus preseason rankings are based on the previous year and that's why teams are ranked where they are. There is still no good reason to put Bama ahead of FSU. They've beaten a ranked team.

OK, sort of like how Alabama went 7-6 (on the field) in 2007, then 12-2 in 2008. Either way, the more you have to qualify your point to make it valid, the less likely that it actually is valid. Just stop.

I never said anything about putting Bama ahead of FSU. I simply made commentary about your using a team's record the prior year to determine whether they're a 'quality' win this year, which is a fricking ridiculous fallacy at best.

WVU and Florida both have won more major bowls the last decade than Auburn and WVU has won a major bowl more recently than Auburn.

And watching a Auburn fan put so much stock into a teams record the year before is laughable considering yo guys haven't finished top 10 in back to back years in my lifetime.
