It is amazing how fast the police lies are mounting on this murder case. It is laughable that the cops say that the meth addicted car thief voluntarily turned himself in to police because he got scared when he opened a bag he had stolen and found that it contained meth.
By all appearances the cops slaughtered a completely innocent man in an attempt to seize very valuable assets. Mr Hooks lived on a 200 acre tract which included his own two story home as well as homes he built for his son and daughter.
The militarization of police and the so called "drug war" are out of control. Every week we see cops murdering innocent people. Most of the victims are minorities but really all of society is victimized.
Check out the anti-prohibition movie "How to Make Money Selling Drugs" which includes segments with reformed Texas narc Barry Cooper. Cooper describes the common police practice of planting drugs and setting people up. Cooper finally quit in disgust and started filming sting operations against the crooked cops that he formerly worked with.

A no-knock search warrant is a recipe for disaster.
We've got a public that can be legally-armed, many states allowing "castle" laws/stand your ground (or whatever, I'm no lawyer) and police that try and sneak up on/ambush people at home. The odds will not be in favor of a peaceful outcome.
If one traces the responsibility upward, I assume a judge is to blame. But I haven't heard of too many judges going to jail or being disbarred over botched servicing of warrants (assuming a judge hears evidence why a warrant should be given, the judge is the "decider").
The Fear is strong in this country. Who are the winners? Follow the money....![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconusaflagsmiley.gif)

This is an issue that crosses all known lines....race, income....it makes no difference. Between this and civil seizure laws we don't stand a chance....the so called war on drugs has morphed into a war on the citizens of this country and there is no way to justify the abuses that are becoming all too common.....
