good post, i like to think i fall in the reasonable/positive category. that said, les is not infalable, which plenty of our fans have trouble coming to terms with. the recruiting in certain areas, or evaluations rather, have been off, he remains loyal to a fault (and he's admitted as much in the past), won't change the way we do things, etc.
basically gary crowton must have left behind the most awesome playbook ever because both stud and cam seem to love it. im sure kragthorpe would have advocated its use as well.
i heard a quote on the radio the other day from one of our media guys who is usually positiger extraordinare, talking about how he approached the TEs at fan day and asked if they thought they'd be more invovled this year. to a man, they all said "we've really just been working on blocking in practice."
OL has been a major disappointment, as has DL. les is an OL guy, and the trenches have been cruel to the team this year.
players need to develop and be put in places to succeed. im sure dj welter is a nice guy but you're routinely putting him out there and letting him get killed. missisippi state came into tiger stadium and pushed LSU around. they may win a game or two over time, but that should never, ever happen, not in that manner.
just want to see these kids put in position to have success on game day. there's been too many guys come through thru the program over the last 6/7 years that i just feel bad for (including jordan jefferson) because they never really had a chance.
this was never going to be our year but you'd like to see us use UL-M as a springboard to prepare for state, instead we're struggling to push the pile.
i still think the future is bright, but les has to adapt, recruit/evaluate better, develop these kids, and be a ruthless mother fricker on gameday.
