Don't laugh, its true.

The 2009 contract the SEC signed purposefully didn't have a network as part of the deal. Why? Because the SEC footprint at that point couldn't support one.

Then in 2011, thanks to A&M starting expansion, the SEC adds 50% more to its population footprint and the SEC Network is formed.

I think they're underestimating the Texas footprint.

The more time goes by with A&M being the top team in Texas, the more it will gain t-shirt fans (which equals viewers) in the state.

It's still early, but it seems like A&M is on a path to dethrone Texas as the most popular college team, and that equals $$$$$$$$$$$$$.
