I dont think the SEC should ever get two in the playoff, as it is formatted now. But if it expanded to 8 then possibly.

I think we are finding a National Champion not the best team. I hope I worded that correctly.

You worded it correctly as to how you feel....but I have always been of the opinion that the National Champion should also be the best team.

If you don't want to find the best team why not only allow the teams ranked 5-9 participate in the playoff and call them the National Champion?

Oxymoron. Reason they should is justified (at this point) by looking at the top ten. By season's end it will likely be leaning more toward the SEC, no matter how many yankees will dispute it. It is what it is, but the season will probably end with an Oregon, Notre Dame or Baylor getting a shot at getting embarrassed by the SEC.

I doubt it'll happen often but history shows that there will be years that conferences have no deserving champ. Wisky won the B1G a few years ago with like 4 losses. They had no business in the final four.

Basically what I'm saying is it is waaaay too early to judge. If FSU and Oregon win their conferences, sure, they are probably in. But if Va Tech and USC win, what then? They have midmajor losses. Would they really deserve in over an 11-1 SEC West runner-up team? Anyone with a definitive answer at this point is just wish casting tbh

Agreed. I have a bias borne of LSU's experience, though.
