Auburn score more points. They were not the better team.

Auburn's missing Tre Mason.

Missing dee ford and carl lawson more. I think the breakdowns in the running game were less about the backs and more about not adjusting to what KSU was doing and not making the right reads on most of the option plays.

KState isn't nearly as bad as the SEC tards would let you believe.
Auburn is a 9 or 10 win team, but Kstate is a solid Big 12 program.
The game didn't have any effect on Auburn's chances to win the SEC, so I'm not surprised with the flat performance in their first true road game.

One thing I noticed several times last night was the failure of the Big 12 officiating crew to mark the ball in a "normal" manner. They were late too many times for it not to be somewhat intentional. Also, after marking the ball, the official would stand over the ball for another 2-3 seconds... even with knowing no substitutions were made. Those actions slowed the Tigers down and had Gus furious on the sidelines more than once.

I think LSU fans can understand your point.
We've been there and had everyone telling us we should've lost. At the end of the day, all that matters is: did you win? Auburn won and come November, no one will give 2 craps about this game the same way no one cared about the MSU win for you guys last year.

I didn't notice it, but I believe you. From my vantage point it seemed the refs called it slightly in favor of KSU, but it wasn't really a poorly officiated game all around relatively speaking. Pretty typical of what we see every Saturday. I won't put any blame on the refs for the way we played. Offense was out of sync for the most part from start to finish and there is blame that can be spread throughout.

No, you didn't.
A ballhawk defense that gets lots of picks and forces fumbles can take credit for playing good defense.
The turnovers KSU gave you were GIFTS. you had almost nothing to do with it. high schoolers could have come up with those balls just as easily.
KSU Defense failed to come up with the ball when it was given similar opportunities at the end of the game. But KSU was getting tackles for loss and no gain all day.
KSU made Auburn punt 5 times, Auburn made KSU punt 3 times. Auburn gave up two touchdowns and 3 field goal opportunities. KSU gave up two touchdowns and 2 field goal opportunities.
You got the win. hostile environment. KSU more prepared, you won anyway. you should be happy about no part of your team's actual performance.

Agree for the most part. Some of those PI calls probably don't get made in the SEC. Also, a couple of those punt returns I noticed two or three blocks in the back that were not called. All in all, I do think the officiating was decent, but I don't think they were in as much of a hurry as Auburn when setting the ball. Maybe just me being overly critical.

quote:Not true on all the turnovers. TR's int was a good play by TR on a ball that was forced due to d-line pressure. Were the dropped balls by AU receivers, at least one of which was going for a TD, not gifts?
The turnovers KSU gave you were GIFTS. you had almost nothing to do with it.
quote:So that means they were better on Defense than us because they didn't take advantage of opportunities? That is a weird way to determine it.

But KSU was getting tackles for loss and no gain all day.
quote:Because we turned them over. Sure, a couple of them were gifts, but so were a couple of our punts.

quote:D played solid and showed improvement. All I said is that our defense was better than KSU's last night. I didn't say I was happy with our performance.

KSU defense was doing it against Auburn offense. Auburn defense was doing it against KSU offense. get on my variable evaluation level bro.

KSU defense was doing it against Auburn offense.
quote:Yes, AU's defense which has been bad to mediocre for years now, shut down K State's run game (40 total yards), had 6 TFL and 3 sacks, turned K State over 3 times and only allowed 14 points in a game where its offense wasn't scoring points. That is pretty good for this defense even considering that K State helped out with their own mistakes.
Auburn defense was doing it against KSU offense.
