I think given the context of Florida's season last year, it's not completely unfair to doubt the team considering the uninspiring victory over Kentucky.

But what I saw Saturday was not a bad Florida team. It was a team with a lot of individual talent that had a bunch of miscues and had not yet learned to play together as a team yet.

I'm not saying we'll have as good of a season, but Auburn last year struggled with a very pedestrian MSU team at home last year before the lights turned on the 2nd half against LSU.

Every team in the SEC is susceptible to having a 4-8 type season because of the toughness of this conference top to bottom. Last year, the East had six teams capable of beating almost anyone on a given Saturday. The Gators had a tough injury-riddled season so it's hard to judge them on that display. Then, UGA felt the injury sting in the second half of the season. Let's not forget that the severely depleted Dogs should have beaten the SEC champs last year.

This year, some team in the West is going to look really bad by the end of the season by the mere fact that someone has to be on the losing end of these games. I have never seen the level of parity as we have in the West this year from 1 to 7.
