Ok...everyone knows where I stand. Big bad Bama, oooohhhh Im skeered.
Truth is their offense isn't all that right now and their defense isn't nearly as good as years past....they have a lot of talent but they and LSU have had so many juniors leave early that its been tough on them coaching up young guys...sort of like Cal and UK in basketball...you have great years and then drop-offs if too much talent leaves.
I predeict the heat will be intense on Lane Kiffen after our game...they also make qb change after halftime (or sooner) and Sanite will interfere with everything.

Bama's secondary is vulnerable. I believe we can expose them if the oline plays better.

I'm not trying to be negative. But, if Rod Johnson blocks like he did last night. Driskel is going to be killed by those corner blitzes.

I know they'll take the chances if they're afforded them, but I also don't think they can do it very often with Robinson.
Kid's gonna be fricking special going forward, and I'd be double teaming him almost every down.

That's pretty much it. O-line steps up, we have a chance. They don't, and it is going to take a miracle game by the skill players.

I think we may be giving Alabama a little too much credit. Their offense is pretty one dimensional at this moment, but we need to stay home and force Sims to win through the air.
They probably think the same thing about Driskel, but I have more faith in his arm than Sims who apparently lacks a deep ball according to other Bama fans.

I don't think Bama is the third best team in the country. But I do think they are good enough that our O-line has to give Driskel some help.
I also think that if we can just hit a couple of deep balls that a lot of things will open up for us. I don't think it as important for a quick score as it is to just keep Bama's defense honest. All the parts seem to be there to hit some of these, but the timing is off a little.
That may be a good analysis of the team in general this year. We have the athletes to compete with anyone if things would just gel. Last year, I wouldn't have said that.
I want this one bad. It isn't exactly just beating Bama as much as seeing Champ start having things go his way. He's actually a really great guy personality wise to have as a coach, at least in my very limited experience around him. He does some really neat things around campus that actually makes it feel like he gets and enjoys being part of the entire university. It's cool and unexpected. I'd be over the moon if he finally turns the corner and starts showing he is a great coach too.

Thats pretty cool to hear. What does he do around campus?

I actually think we can run on Bama. Their Dline looks soft and their linebackers look slow from what I have seen.

My favorite anecdote is just before Christmas break one year, he wandered across the street to give a little pep talk to the grad students in my college slaving away on grading and wrapping up our own papers. There is no one on campus during reading days but grad students and coaches I guess.

Bama will have at least 2 guys on Robinson the whole game.
Burton, Debose, and Dunbar all have to step up on offense.
Hoping we finally see Adam Lane this week too.
Defensively, if Muschamp can clean up the secondary issues from last week, I think this game will be very close.

Alabama has the #1 rush defense in the country. They've only given up 47 yards per game. That's good against ANY competition.
Florida will not run the ball well against Alabama.
They will HAVE to be able to move the ball through the air or they will lose. By a lot.
Alabama hasn't been forcing turnovers this year though. UF needs to force some turnovers early, get them away from their running game by scoring off those turnovers, and then holding on for dear life down the stretch.
If UF turns the ball over, they will lose. By a lot.

I hope we win but after last week's performance.
Alabama 30
Florida 20
I hope I eat crow.

2 things that have to happen for us to have a chance to beat bama.
1) Receivers have to make plays, stop dropping passes
2) Driskel has to be a run threat on the QB read. Don't know whether he is scared to keep the ball or if the plays have not been options but he has been open several times had he kept the ball on the read option.
There are more things we need to do of course but these 2 will help us have offensive success.

I think UF has a chance in this one. So far this season Bama has not looked like Bama of old.

Have you LOOKED at their schedule so far? Geez, Sisters of the poor were probably already booked...I know I know...West Virginny was good years ago...but they haven't had a run game in 20 yrs...Southern Miss? Please...they are one of the worse teams in the country.
We can and will run on them and conversely...can they run on us? No. We will force them in 3rd and longs and Sims will crap his pants when # 6 hits him a few times. I predict Bama makes qb change at halftime.

Who is this fella Driskle? A walk on?

I think he'll have another solid game vs Bama, really like what he showed vs UK. As for this game, going to need the OL to be huge, but I think JD will play well.
