That would have only a small effect. While gay men would not feel the current pressure to marry women and reproduce with them, they still want to be parents. Gay women do, too. Liberated gays and lesbians tend to share sperm and ova to get the children they want.

We have to adjust to a very different world every few years. The pace, and resulting effect, of technology is increasing at an exponential rate, as exemplified by the past 200 years.
