My assertion that there are inherent disadvantages to being a minority do not necessitate that all minorities are a community. They may share a physical characteristic, but black people are no more a community than blondes or redheads (soulless beings that they are, of course ).

Many different people across the socioeconomic spectrum can share the characteristic of being a minority and have no other cogent similar characteristics. Therefore the "community" label is as lazy as it is bogus.
Agree 100%. The problem is a lot of people (white and black and whatever) don't see it that way. It's so frustrating. You hear someone whine about society's inherent oppression (privilige and the system all that bullshite) and I just want to say "No they're not! They're not oppressed! Most people are not racists. Go be a normal member of society, and people will accept you. I promise. I live in the real world, this isn't a trap. Just go do it. frick."

That's the thing though, they don't want that.

Asians figured out a long time ago to tailor their names to Americans, not demand that Americans accept their names.

That's why there are is an influx of Asians with names like "Kevin, Mark, Sam", etc. etc..

Instead of choosing normal names, they go with bizarre names that end up getting them discriminated against and then blame other people for not taking chances. If their parents want to give them the best chance, give them appropriate names that fit with the society.

I guarantee you if I was hiring right now, I would say no to "Cherry Moonstar" just as fast as I would "Sharkeisha Wilson" based on name alone.

In America, if you work hard and apply yourself, you will get to the middle class barring special circumstances that are not race based.
