But we were ranked higher and had a better record in 12 so not really
In neither year did you beat LSU or finish higher in the SEC.
Congrats on the polls though. I can see how that is a big accomplishment for such an average program...

One game in a season of 13. I would gladly lose to LSU every game indefinitely if it meant A&M won every other game as well.
As for finshing higher in the SEC. To quote Ricky Bobby "If you aint first youre last!". Who gives a shite about finishing 3rd or 4th of 5th.

These are my favorite posts.
"A&M sucks and has never won anything!!"
"You finished 5th in the nation? Big Deal! All elite teams do that!"

This pretty irrelevant to judging the work of an entire season. It's just one game.

finish higher in the SEC
This means very little also. Why did we get selected for a better bowl than you if you "finished higher than us" (even though we tied)? Where did finishing higher than Bama in the SEC get you in 2011. We had a better record and finished higher in the national rankings. I'll take that every time over winning a single game.

quote:We don't really care that we lost to LSU specifically, it's not like we are currently rivals. We just care about losses. A loss to you guys is the same as a loss to ole miss. We don't base our success of a season on one game. Also, sec rank doesn't always matter as you know first hand.

This alone would make for an interesting thread. Which is more important? Where you finish in the National Polls, or where you finish in the SEC. I mean, with A&M finishing 5th in the Nation they would have had a decent chance to go to the Playoffs, if they had existed. That was a bit of a fluky year with the way that finished up, though. I guess the bowls did that.
