No only was the addition a good one but it made a ton of sense. The conference now has a footprint in a huge market that had been previously the territory of a rival conference. Texas A&M has a ton of money and seems intent on spending it along with a really well rounded and competitive athletic program. As an LSU football fan I wish to thank Slive for adding a team that we have recently kicked the shite out of to the West.

Definitely not a mistake for the many of the reasons stated above. A&M has greater upside than any additional team for the conference outside of possibly Texas or Oklahoma, and maybe more than either. Plus it makes Aggie jokes more fun. Clemson, Louisville, Ga. Tech, Miami couldn't add what A&M adds in potential. Florida State would have been a good addition but no new TV market, no expanded recruiting territory, etc.
