Damn those were some evil, mean sonsabitches, never knew much about this Haun's Mill massacre also known as the Missouri Conflict but after your reference had to check it out. I hate to tell you Scrooster but most of the folks that settled Missouri pre 1860's came from the south, both sides of my family included. We aint southern wannabees, we aint Yankees, well most of us aint Yankees, we got hard working farmers in the north, hill folk in the south, cowboys on the west/south west side and then we have the St Louis side, anyway I know a lot of what you post is to get the hackles up on certain MIZZOU fans but I gotta tell ya sometimes you come off as a complete jackass. When one brags about their wealth, their wife, kids, life accomplishments, etc. it turns into the "look at me moment" yes those are things to be proud of and thankful for and should not be used to brag about where you are on life's ladder. Possessions, wealth and such can be gone much faster than it took to acquire them. I apologize for my rant cause I usually enjoy reading your posts and generally respect your opinions. Here's a link concerning the Haun's Massacre, it's interesting when you read and find out why this happened, not that I agree with it but this was not a Yankee militia.
